AAXA Announces AF115 Premium Home Theater Projector

October 2, 2009

AAXA Technologies is pleased to announce the release of the AF115 Home Theater Projector. Designed for premium home-theater systems, the AF115 combines a native 1080P (1920x1080) resolution, 1500 lumens of brightness, and Sony's SXRD optical engine to deliver a vivid home cinema experience.

The AF115 is developed jointly with LG electronics and Sony and is based off Sony's SXRD optical engine. The core of the AF115 is a LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) imager, which unlike DLP or 3LCD, produces a premium picture with greater color gamut, less pixilation, no artifacts, and true 1080P resolution.

The AF115 boasts a 30,000:1 contrast ratio (with dynamic iris), an ultra quiet 21db fan, vertical lens shift capability, and 3500 hours of bulb life in economical mode.

Under theater conditions, the AF115 is capable of producing a tremendous 300" picture - truly bringing the movie-theater experience into the home.

MSRP: $2399.00

The AAXA AF115 home theater projector begins shipping on October 15, 2009.

About LCOS / SXRD: Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) technology is derived by combining reflective liquid crystal and switching technology. Because LCoS uses liquid crystals instead of micro-mirrors (like DLP) LCoS images are devoid of pixilation and hard edges which result in the "screen door" effect and hard edges. The AF115 employs three SXRD (LCoS) imagers - one for red, green, and blue which produces rich, vibrant colors and eliminates the "rainbow effect" found in DLP imagers. Finally the elimination of the color wheel means no color artifacts and eye-strain.
