If your P300 Neo is experiencing a short battery life, please read below

Due to a manufacturing oversight, a small production of P300 Neos have incorporated brighter-than-standard Osram LEDs in the optical engine. The peak brightness is increased about 15% over baseline, and battery power consumption is also increased by 15% (meaning a 15% reduction in battery life).

For these units we have developed a reflash that will reset battery performance within spec (while maintaining high brightness in Boost mode).

To test if your P300 Neo has these non-standard LEDs, please fully charge (6 hours) then discharge your P300 Neo in "Standard" battery mode. If the run time is less than 60 minutes, you have a non-standard LED.

The firmware file below could resolve this issue.

This update ONLY applies to the P300 Neo. Do not install on the P300 Neo Smart.

How do I update the firmware on my P300 Neo?

Please apply this reflash if your P300 Neo is experiencing a run time of less than 60 minutes on "Standard" battery mode after a full charge.

Notes before updating:

  • A USB memory stick (FAT32 format) no more than 32GB is needed to update the firmware on your P300 Neo
  • Please ensure your unit is fully charged (which will be indicated by a green LED in the back of the projector). We also recommend that your P300 Neo is plugged into power when updating the firmware.

1. Download the projector firmware file

2. Copy the downloaded firmware file to the root folder (highest folder of hierarchy) of the USB memory stick.

NOTE: DO NOT copy any other files or folders to the USB memory stick

DO NOT change the firmware's file name

3.Make sure the Power Switch on the P300 Neo is in the "OFF" position

4.Connect the USB memory stick to the P300 Neo's USB port

5.Move the Power Switch to the "ON" position. Your unit should automatically power on and your firmware update should begin. DO NOT turn the unit off during the update.

6.The firmware update will take 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once complete, your P300 Neo will boot into the Main Menu.

7.Your P300 Neo is now updated with the latest firmware!
